California Dreamin' Fun

We are back to negotiating titles...but MOST importantly, WE MADE IT! I just need everyone to know as quickly as possible that it is 66 degrees in San Diego. My soul is so happy. Flashback to getting the last leg of the trip started. Ella and Basil had a tearful good-bye but seem to be comforted by the fact that we will be driving back through in a week or two:)

Adventure Stop #19: Seven Magic Mountains: Las Vegas, NV

Another cool free spot to check out that is right off the interstate.

Adventure Stop #20: Peggy Sue's 50's Diner: Yermo, CA

It's hard for either of us to turn down an empty stage with music playing: (https://youtu.be/-nJAKUTT3og). This diner provided unending curiosity from the human bear and I needed to have multiple explanations on celebrities from "back in the day". This may have been the most awkward place I've ever eaten. The waitresses were dressed up in 50s style outfits, they had stuff all over the place inside and then a dinosaur exhibit outside. Maybe not awkward so much as just confusing. We still made it work. The human bear is getting very tired and I'm glad this is the final stop for a little bit.

Adventure Stop #21: No Idea b/c two welcome centers were closed by the state line: Cali

This was a sad excuse for our sign but we LOVED the bear in the state logo. It was very clear from the signage that tax payer money is being used to upgrade the welcome centers so no need to fear all you Cali tax payers. We couldn't even get off at a ramp to take a sign pic...believe me, we tried!

We made it as far west as we can! Whoooohoooo, driving down the coast for the final hour to San Diego! I don't think either of us could be more comfortable or happy. Life is good folks! Now it's time to do some Cali living.
