The rainbow as a welcome was certainly a good omen. WE HAVE LOVED TULSA. Much of it had to do with the most gracious hosts that took care of us. Thanks Davis Family for letting us take over your space for two nights:)

Got a new bestie on the first night! She is fierce and reminds me of the human Bear at that age. Whew, I'm tired just from the 48 hour flashback. We were highly entertained.

Beast Mode was resting up and excited to explore Tulsa after a good night of sleep.

The first thing we did on our adventure day was visit the most amazing park I've ever seen. A community park spanning over 66 acres and everything is free...well, almost everything. The human Bear loves a good penny press so we paid for that one.

Check them out: https://www.gatheringplace.org/ When I say EVERYTHING is free, I mean everything: Events, boat rentals, splash pads. The people there were all kind, helpful and really seemed to care about the mission.

Breathable air and a community park...makes this man dance a happy dance!

Everything was also beautiful and well thought out. Behind us is the boat house for rentals (which are FREE).

The human Bear just kept looking people in the eyes and smiling so right next to the fish food for payment this nice man gave her free fish food and told her she had great energy:) Whoohoo parenting win.

The different play structures were NO joke! They were fun and there was so much to explore that you could probably move in there and never have enough time to do everything.

This picture does not do the slide justice. It was VERY steep. I promise. I was huffing and puffing afterwards too because to get up to these slides is not an old traditional ladder. I would play at this place for a workout any day.

We had never tried Bahn Mi and it was DELICIOUS. Lone Wolf in downtown Tulsa is the place to go.

ree

The fastest way to get us to read a book...try to ban it! We also love a good local book store. Gotta start working on those AR points for next year.

ree

Greenwood Rising is a much needed museum to visit if you are going to Tulsa. We spent time learning about Black Wall Street and the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre.

Taking some time to process the feelings of all that we took in and learned.

I enjoy using the RoadTrippers website when I plan my trips and we find all kinds of odd things...This one is called Center of the Universe in downtown Tulsa. When you stand in the middle and talk, it feels like you are in an echo chamber. It made my eyes water and I didn't like it but I'm glad I did it.

A quick tour of the University of Tulsa. The human Bear now knows that all National Merit Semi-Finalists can get a free 5 year ride to the school just in case she ever wants to use that information.

ree

I kept calling this guy the Gold Digger. Although I'm certain that isn't correct, I just couldn't remember the correct thing.

I spy 3 Bears!
I spy 3 Bears!

Dustin took his tour guiding duties seriously and it was an excellent day!

Jason was highly entertained by us trying to figure out how to share the wifi password. "Do you tap it? Do we touch phones? What's happening?"

ree

It was easy to feel at home!

Jason might steal Jameson's room decor. He was happy as could be in this room:)

After a long day of seeing so much of Tulsa, we got to enjoy a family night of fun. Jessica was SO kind to put up with us after a full days work and a house full of kiddos!

Y'all know I can't be around a group of kids and not read a book!

The adults were able to eat a meal and have a great dinner together.

ree

Completely spoiled! Salmon, asparagus and potatoes. We had full bellies and happy hearts.

ree

We will always have a lot of Louisiana in us...just running around barefoot on concrete!

Bikes, Babies and Basketalls in the Cul-de-sac

Who would have thought in those Third Row Tailgating days that this is where we would all be today?! Thank you again Davis Family. We had a great time and loved hanging with the family and seeing your city. It would NOT have been the same without y'all there!

ree

You can't let a Jason Wesley visit go by without repping the throwback shirt! Jason Wesley for Metro Council! Thank you Tulsa and Davis Family for a GREAT experience all around.
